Who Is Rasha Kirmani?
Rasha Kirmani works across four fields at once: screen acting, modelling, live dance and business. Viewers know her from a short film built around Sonu Nigam’s music and from a Telugu OTT series. Brands know her as a fashion and lifestyle creator with a large Instagram audience.
She is also an event professional. Through a Mumbai event company, she has been linked with beauty pageants and corporate shows, and her family runs a restaurant in Hyderabad. That mix of creative and commercial work is what sets her profile apart from a typical rising actress.
Her most recent credit is Vikkatakavi, a six-episode detective series that began streaming on ZEE5 on 28 November 2024. She plays Yashodha. Since then, her public work has centred on social media, dance performances and brand collaborations, and no new screen project has been officially announced as of October 2026.
Rasha Kirmani Age
Rasha Kirmani was born on 28 December 1995, which makes her 30 years old. She will turn 31 on 28 December 2026. Her birth date falls on a Thursday, and her zodiac sign is Capricorn.
One low-quality profile lists her birthday as 28 October. Every other source, including cast and film listings, gives 28 December, and that is the date used here.
Early Life and Family
Most published profiles say Rasha was born in Iran and moved to Saudi Arabia with her family while she was still very young. A few list Saudi Arabia as her birthplace. Because no official document or interview settles the question, her exact place of birth remains unclear. What is consistent is her childhood abroad and her later move to India.
Her father, Jawad Kirmani, is a businessman. Her mother, Shahin Kirmani, works as a school principal. She has a brother named Raad Kirmani, described as her elder brother. Some sites spell the parents’ names as Javed and Shaheen, so you may see both versions.
The family has strong ties to Hyderabad. Photos shared on her social pages show her with her family at their home there, and the family runs a restaurant called Kirman’s in the city. She spent her student and working years in Mumbai, and Mumbai is her current base.
Education
Rasha studied commerce at Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science in Mumbai. The college’s own records show her as a second-year B.Com. student in January 2016, when she took first prize in the fashion show event at Maharashtrotsav 2015–16, an intercollegiate cultural festival held at Elphinstone College. It is one of the earliest verifiable markers of her interest in the ramp.
Published profiles say she graduated in 2018. After college she trained in acting at Actor Prepares, the Mumbai acting school founded by Anupam Kher. Some websites also claim a master’s degree or doctoral study in economics, but no reliable source confirms this, so it is left out here.

Career
Modelling and the ramp (2015–2020)
Rasha began on the runway. After her college fashion-show win, she walked for several designers and took modelling assignments in Mumbai. A photograph from a 2018 fashion show is among the earliest professional images attached to her name. Reports also say she appeared at the Miss India Congeniality event in 2018, though that detail rests on a single profile and is unconfirmed.
Punjabi music videos (2021)
Her screen career began in 2021 with two Punjabi music videos, Sunn Maahi and Pyaar Hai Mera. The second video appeared in September 2021. These short-form projects gave her camera experience and early visibility with music audiences.
Jeena Abhi Baaki Hai (2022)
Her breakthrough came with Jeena Abhi Baaki Hai, a female-centred musical film from Biig Bang Media. The project was directed by Varun Gupta, features music by Sonu Nigam, and carries filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s creative association. The cast also included Madhurima Tuli, Anupriya Goenka, Divyanka Tripathi and Priya Malik. Rasha is reported to have played a woman dealing with domestic abuse.
A note on a common mix-up: several websites say Imtiaz Ali directed the film. The announcement coverage names Varun Gupta as director and describes Ali’s touch, so the credit is shared more loosely than many profiles suggest.
Vikkatakavi (2024)
In 2024 she moved into Telugu OTT with Vikkatakavi: The Chronicles of Amaragiri, produced by Ram Talluri of SRT Entertainments and directed by Pradeep Maddali. The story is set in 1970s Telangana, where villagers near the Nallamalla forest lose their memories and a detective named Ramakrishna, played by Naresh Agastya, investigates. Megha Akash plays the female lead.
Rasha is credited as Yashodha. The series was screened at the International Film Festival of India in November 2024 before streaming on ZEE5. Reviewers praised its Telangana setting and world-building, which makes it the strongest-reviewed project on her résumé so far.
